Dr. Mohammad Jellur Rahman was born in Tangail, Bangladesh in January, 1979. He obtained his B.Sc. (Honours) in 2001 (Held in 2004) and M. S. in 2002 (Held in 2006) in Physics from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He joined Bangladesh Bank (Central Bank of Bangladesh) as an Assistant Director in 2006. Later he joined the Department of Physics, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka in 2007 as a Lecturer. He completed his M.Phil. from BUET in 2011 and went Japan for Ph.D. getting the MEXT (Monobukagakusho) scholarship. He got his Ph.D. on the Production, functionalization and applications of carbon nanotubes from Shizuoka University, Japan in 2014. He became Assistant Professor in February, 2015 and became Associate Professor in March 2018. His present research interests are on Plasma Science and Carbon Nanomaterials. He is working on production of nanoparticles & nanocomposites, plasma polymerized thin films, and barium titanate based ceramics.
